Part of the "Bright-Sadness" card collection
"Bright-Sadness" card collection-
During my season of suffering, words often fell short. That is, until I heard a daily devotional (Lectio 365) pray "God of this bright-sad season." That sentence encapsulated the paradox of my faith. I felt as if I was holding suffering and grief in one hand and grasping onto my faith with the other. "Bright sadness" is a phrase used by Eastern Orthodox tradition to describe the paradox of sorrow and hope, brokenness and beauty, that mark the season of Lent and the victory at the cross. I hope these cards bring you and your loved ones comfort during your seasons of suffering.
